About Us

Overview

Taragaon Regency Hotels Limited (TRHL) is a pioneering hospitality venture in Nepal, operating the prestigious Hyatt Regency Kathmandu, a five-star hotel managed by an international hotel chain. Established over 35 years ago, TRHL was initiated under Nepal’s first Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, bringing together the private investors, Taragaon Development Board (TGDB)—a statutory entity formed under the Bikas Samiti Ain 2013—and over 40,000 public shareholders. TRHL has played a pivotal role in enhancing Nepal’s tourism economy, elevating hospitality standards, and generating significant employment opportunities. The company has been recognized with the Largest Taxpayer Award six times and honored multiple times for being among the top contributors to Nepal’s foreign currency earnings through the hospitality sector.
Beyond its success in hospitality, TRHL is deeply committed to cultural preservation and promotion through its visionary project—the Taragaon Cultural Center.

The Taragaon Cultural Center

Located within the hotel complex, the Taragaon Cultural Center is a unique fusion of heritage, architecture, and contemporary art. Originally designed to preserve Nepal’s rich artistic and cultural legacy, the center now serves as a vibrant cultural hub, offering a platform for local and international artists, historians, and cultural institutions. It hosts exhibitions, workshops, cultural programs, and heritage documentation initiatives that bring together the past and present of Nepali identity.
Visitors to TRHL experience more than just luxurious hospitality—they immerse themselves in an environment where Nepal’s architectural charm, artistic expressions, and cultural narratives are showcased with care and pride. The cultural center, with its striking red-brick architecture and tranquil setting, stands as a bridge between tradition and innovation, making it a key attraction for tourists, scholars, and creatives from around the world.
At TRHL, we believe in offering more than a stay—we offer a complete cultural experience, where world-class hospitality meets Nepal’s living heritage.
